Happy Winter! As we begin the second half of our year, we would like to congratulate you on surviving, and in most cases prevailing over, the difficulties of our work and to hope that the rewards continue to be fulfilling. The CEA is celebrating our success with the Governor's bonding of our retirement fund obligation. This adds tremendous security to our pension funding. The CEA is gearing up its legislative push to improve the B.E.S.T. program and to increase the State's financial help with retirees' health insurance costs. Please have a look at their website for more information, to add your own thoughts, and to see how to help: www.cea.org Your Executive Board has raised the amount of TEA scholarships to two THS students and three TEA members' students to $2,000. If your child is a senior in high school, be sure to have your applications in to your building representative by April 1. Our Building Rep Council meets the third week of non-vacation months and you are all invited. (We will meet February 27, at Daniels Farm School) Ask your Building Rep which school will host the next one. Be sure to take any concerns or questions you have about your job, your contract, or your building to your Building Rep. Most problems can be addressed immediately at the building level, if we know about them. Often, your problems are shared by others and you are helping many by bringing them to our attention. Best of luck with the Connecticut winter. It is February, can Spring be far behind?
Finally, if you are need of assistance from us please call us at 203-814-0875 for Joe and at 203-814-0876 for Roger
