On April 24, 2004, after many months of planning and hard work, CEASP members and residents of the West Avenue community in Willimantic refurbished the West Ave. Community Center. The ‘finished product’ is a center where children can go for after-school programs that extend their learning in an atmosphere that is welcoming and motivating!

CEASP members cleaned and restored the outdoor playground….

	…and spruced up the outside walls of the laundry building!
	A large outdoor metal fence bordering the playground was transformed into a mural…..
Some worked on putting together equipment…
…while others planted flowers, shrubs, and trees outside.
The inside of the community center building was painted….	…creating, among other things, a new arts & crafts room
By the end of the day, the children couldn’t wait to get out and play!
