School Supply Drives
Print Friendly Version       Email to a Friend

CEASP students from CCSU, ECSU, and Quinnipiac University once again sponsored drives this fall to help provide much-needed 'tools for school' to students in local schools.

CEASP chapter members 'stormed the dorms' and collected backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, glue, tape, and numerous other supplies students need in their classrooms, and donated them. For many recipients, it was the only way they would receive a new backpack this year, or be assured of having the other supplies they needed.

Administrators, such as Richard Balisciano from Helen Street Elementary School in Hamden, were as delighted and excited as the students, remarking how, without CEASP help, the school would be hard-pressed to provide for each child.

For CEASP members, the school supply drives are one more way they can support public education, even before they enter the profession as teachers.
