Additional Duties of Guidance Counselors, Social Workers and School Psychologists

 

We have revisited additional duties beyond the regular school year as part of “their overall job responsibilities” for the above three positions.  The bottom line is all salary or stipends paid beyond the regular school year are pensionable.  This holds true whether the work was performed on a voluntary or mandatory basis; paid as a stipend, on a per diem basis or as part of their annual salary rate.

 

CEA reached out to their field representatives and learned that most of the time this work occurs right before school starts or ends, however, in the event someone works before or after the “norm”, it is still includable
