Unions Give Teachers a Voice to Advocate for Students, Says Building Rep
Meet this month's superhero: Fairfield's Sara Goepfrich
Fairfield Ludlowe High School special education teacher Sara Goepfrich takes pride in going to bat for her students—and takes comfort in knowing her union goes to bat for her.
"There are times that I have had to advocate for things for my students that cost money that are needed to help a child be successful. Sometimes I have not agreed with all of the programming choices that have been made. Thanks to the support of my union, I'm able to advocate for what my students need."
Goepfrich knows full well the value of union membership. As a building rep—and this month's CEA Superhero—she is the eyes and ears for her colleagues, making sure no one is going it alone.
