Holiday Bear Project Donations Distributed

Thank you for your generosity

The CEA holiday elves, also known as the members of the CEA Holiday Bear Project Committee, are busy delivering your generous gifts to hundreds of needy public school children throughout Connecticut.

"Once again this year, our members and staff opened up their hearts to help bring joy and happiness to some of our neediest students across Connecticut," said CEA Vice President Jeff Leake, who serves as Connecticut Education Foundation president. "I want to thank you for your passion and commitment to students and for your support of the Holiday Bear Project and other Connecticut Education Foundation programs."

More than 10,000 Connecticut public school students have benefited from the holiday program since it began in 1998.

NEA Danbury's office was full of garbage bags stuffed with gifts for CEA's Holiday Bear Project. NEA Danbury President Sam Buck rents a truck every year and member volunteers help deliver the gifts to needy students in the area.

Moira Honyotski and Brianne Cronk, members of CEA's Student Program who attend Central Connecticut State University, helped collect gifts for CEA's Holiday Bear Project. The students dropped off the gifts at CEA in Hartford for distribution to needy public school students across the state.
