Stamford Building Rep Says 'Unity is Strength': Wins Monthly Drawing

Send comments for your chance to win

Congratulations to Joe Celcis, an English teacher and new Building Rep at Westhill High School in Stamford. He posted a comment about the importance of being a union building rep and was selected as this month's CEA Association Conntact Union Report drawing winner.

Here's what he posted:

I am proud to announce that I am officially a building rep. In Westhill High School for my union, the Stamford Education Association. My union is not perfect, but it has proven its value to me time and again in the last 10 years. I want to return the service by being an advocate for kids and my colleagues. I thank the S.E.A Vice-president Ruth Walden for supporting my decision, and my senior building rep. Kate Tobin for encouraging members to step up and be the change we want to see. I have always been, am, and always will be a union man. Respect to all my Union brothers and sisters in all walks of life, across the country and world. As the Haitian flag says, L'Union fait la force": Unity is strength.

Joe, who has been teaching for nearly 20 years will receive a $25 gift card to Target and will be entered in our annual grand prize drawing to win a Nook.
