October 2015
It's Not Too Late to Support Team CEF
Run or donate to CEA groups participating in the 2015 Eversource Hartford Marathon
There's still time to join in the fun and support Team CEF in the Eversource Hartford Marathon on October 10—and you don't have to be a runner to be part of the excitement and support a good cause.
The Connecticut Education Foundation(CEF) is looking for runners to participate in the 5K, relay race, and half or full marathon. Team CEF members can save $5 on the marathon registration fee.
You can also volunteer or contribute on behalf of a runner, or simply donate to the Foundation.
This is the CEF's second year as an Official Charity of the Eversouce Hartford Marathon. The Foundation is CEA's charitable arm, and helps teachers and children with extraordinary personal hardships as well as students planning teaching careers.
Last year, more than thirty CEA members and their families and friends ran in the event, while dozens of others volunteered and donated to the cause, raising more than $4,000 for the Foundation. Students are invited to participate and can earn community service credit for their efforts.
To join Team CEF as a runner or volunteer, contact marypats@cea.org.
