PA 18-89 would ensure safer classrooms, better supports for students in need

A bill currently on Governor Malloy's desk would help stem the tide of student assaults and ensure safer classrooms—but only if he signs it.

Some school superintendents are lobbying the governor to veto Public Act 18-89, An Act Concerning Classroom Safety and Disruptive Behavior. Thanks to CEA staff, leaders, and members, the bill passed overwhelmingly in the House and Senate, but it's now in danger of not being enacted into law.
