March 14 — Walk-In for Safe Schools

CEA is working with locals across the state to hold walk-ins for safe schools on March 14. The early-morning walk-ins, which will start about 20 minutes before the school day, will draw attention to the need to make all schools safe learning environments.

CEA is asking building reps and local presidents to work together to host walk-ins for safe schools. We have created speaking points, a template for a flyer, and a walk-in guide detailing specific information on how to plan the event. These events should focus on students, parents, and teachers, and the need to keep schools in Connecticut safe and violence free.

March 24 — March for Our Lives

CEA is also participating in the March for Our Lives community action rallies organized by students. We are organizing a bus to the rally in Washington, D.C.; however, space is very limited, so please register early. Details and registration will be available on our website early next week.

Teachers, students, and parents are also encouraged to join CEA at a 12:30 p.m. rally being held at the State Capitol in Hartford on March 24. We will be meeting at CEA at 12:15 and walking over to the rally together. Bus transportation to Hartford will be provided; stay tuned for details.
