The Best Student-Teacher Ratios

Find out how Connecticut stacks up

New data released last month from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) shows how student-teacher ratio varied by state in the 2012 - 2013 school year. On average, there was one teacher for every 16 public school students in the country that year.

However, numbers ranged from a high of almost 24 students for every teacher in California, to about 11 students per every teacher in Vermont.
