Wanted: Teachers and Runners

Run for charity: CEF official designee of the 2014 NU Hartford Marathon

Teachers show their dedication to children in the classroom every day. Outside the classroom teachers have multiple opportunities to show that same caring commitment. Now there's a new opportunity that teachers who run won't want to miss.

CEA is calling on teachers to take part in the NU Hartford Marathon to raise money for the Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF). CEF has teamed up with the NU Hartford Marathon as an official race charity partner and encourages teachers and other athletes to run in the October 11, 2014, event to raise money for children.

CEF President Jeff Leake said, "We are so pleased to get this designation for CEF. Our next job is to interest marathon participants and other runners to join the fun-filled event and help raise funds for the often needy and always deserving children, teachers, and scholarship recipients whom CEF helps."

Encourage your local Association to put together a group of runners and join Team CEF and participate in the full marathon, half marathon, team relay, or 5K.
