Teachers Talk with Legislators

Plan to attend meetings in your local district

Have you met with your state representative or state senator recently? With just two months left in the legislative session, elected officials need to hear from teachers in order to get education policy right.

Local leaders across the state are setting up meetings with their state senators and representatives to discuss a wide variety of education issues. Plan to attend and tell your lawmakers about issues of importance to the teaching profession and public education, including excessive testing, education funding, teacher evaluation, the age at which children enter school, and more.

If you're interested in setting up a meeting with your state senator and representative, contact your local president.
