Wired to Win! http://www.wiredtowinthemovie.com There's more to winning the Tour de France than pedaling! This site promotes an IMAX film, produced in part by the National Science Foundation, that follows 2 cyclists in the Tour de France. Viewers see, through computer-generated imagery, how the human brain interacts with the body's systems to work to combat pain and fatigue. Includes classroom resources for teachers, references, and a listing of where the film is and will be shown around the country.

Enhancing Earth Science Education
Stone Wall Secrets by Robert M. Thorson
http://stonewall.uconn.edu/StoneWallSecrets.htm
Stone Wall Secrets is the first book listed under Educational Materials for the Geological Society of America's Publication Division. It is also one of only a few books regularly featured in its national catalog and sold at its national meetings. Nationwide, it has become an important part of geoscience education. See links to the Teacher's Guide and Teacher's Reference.

See also Stone Wall Initiatives and the book Stone by Stone: The Magnificent History In New England Stone Walls, which adopts a more scientific approach to understanding stone walls.
Teachers and outdoor educators at all levels can find resources to teach earth science and to link it to other parts of the curriculum. They can take advantage of a young person's fascination with stone walls to teach aspects of geology, ecology, social studies, environmental science, or simple physics, as well as to help students connect the natural and human worlds. Robert M. Thorson is available to visit schools for in-services, and enrichment activities.
