The People's Climate March - Sunday, September 21, 2014

The CEA Board of Directors has voted to join other unions in endorsing The People's Climate March set for Sunday, September 21, 2014.

Here's why:

Scientists have made it clear that we're running out of time to avoid catastrophic climate change.

Every new report reveals a shorter timeframe for action, and every new disaster underlines their words in grim ink.

That's why we're inviting you to join us in the streets this September 21 for the largest rally in history to demand action on climate change - right before a landmark UN summit where world leaders, including President Obama, will be discussing the climate crisis.

Click here to join us September 21st for the People's Climate March where we'll gather the kind of crowd that will make it impossible for world leaders to pretend their hands are tied by a lack of public will.

There hasn't been a social movement in the history of the U.S. that has succeeded without putting massive numbers of people in the streets.

The climate movement has gotten arrested, organized distributed events, and is running the largest campus campaign in the country. But until we can act at scale, we're never going to have the type of impact we need. That's why this September is critical. It's time to stand up for the future. Unless we can protect the planet and turn this economy around, our children aren't going to have a chance to survive and thrive. We can turn the climate crisis into an opportunity - a chance to rebuild our economy and create millions of jobs in the transition to clean, renewable energy.

The climate crisis is real — here's what we're doing about it:
