Free Dental Clinic - April 20-21, 2018 at Torrington High School

February 13, 2018

On Behalf of CEA President Sheila Cohen

I am writing to invite your district to participate in a program that provides free dental care to underserved and uninsured children and families throughout the state.

The Connecticut Education Association is partnering with the Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach to get the message out about an upcoming clinic that provides free dental care to Connecticut's underserved populations. We are inviting you to share the free dental clinic information with the families in your district by sending the attached flyer home with every student.

In its 11th year, the Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach's Connecticut Mission of Mercy (CTMOM) program has provided free dental care to thousands of Connecticut residents, mostly adults, who would otherwise go without dental care. This year, CEA and CTMOM have joined forces in an effort to provide more children with much needed oral health care. We hope that you will join us in this effort to get the word out about the free clinic that is open to children and families.

The free dental clinic will be held April 20-21, 2018 at Torrington High School. Children and adults are welcome, but no child under the age of 18 will receive treatment unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Dental treatment is provided at no cost to individuals who cannot afford dental care, and services include cleanings, extractions, fillings, fluoride treatments, sealants, X-rays, oral health education, and more. Personal identification, documentation, and insurance are NOT required in order to participate.

The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach (CFDO) was founded in 2007 to improve the oral health of the underserved and working poor in the state of Connecticut. The CFDO sponsors the Connecticut Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic dedicated to providing charitable dental care to the underserved, uninsured and working poor and building awareness of the importance of oral healthcare to create a healthier community.

I hope you will join us in spreading the word about this wonderful program and help to create healthier communities through accessible dental care.
