CEUs for completing the NBC process:
Those teachers who hold professional educator certificates who have completed the national board certification assessment process (whether they attained NBC or not), can use that activity in place of having to earn the 90 hours of CEU credit during the 5-year validity period of their certificate. They must be able to document that they completed the process. They must have completed the process during the 5 year validity period of their certificate (so, for example, if a teacher completed the process in 1994, and renewed his/her certificate in 1997 --- which would give it a validity period of 1997-2002 --- that completion of the NBC process could not be used in lieu of earning CEUs for the period 1997-2002).
